"Black Magic is a really unique approach to rhythm and while it may share some characteristics with other "drum" vsts, I can't think of one that really does what it does. It is awesome for creating mountains of loops to feed into other apps (for slicing etc) while at the same time functioning as a highly controllable live drum machine\groovebox.

The alpha version of Introjector is now available to Black Magic Users and members of the Group Buy. Introjector is a bonus instrument for Black Magic users, seeing as BM has the ability to create endless WAV Loops, Introjector can load them and re-sequence the them even further! Of course you can use any WAVs, even pads to create kits of interesting sounds.

Introjector is a VSTi which loads up to 8 WAVs & splits each one into 16 equal portions. Any 16 of these segments can then be assigned to midi keys to form a type of kit. You can also play the loops themselves if the sustain and release are set to high and in that case the segment will become the starting point.

On top of that there is also 8 sequences on board which are assigned to 8 midi keys. The sequences will use the 16 selected segments to make the sequences.

As with Black Magic, Octaves 4 and 5 can be used to play the pitch of the entire machine (or assigned to other parameters such as filter etc...).

Black Magic Lite is the free little sister of Black Magic, a loop generating VSTi plugin for windows. With the ability to quickly randomize and save out looped WAVs, the Black Magic machines make building a unique sample collection easy and quick. Even though Lite has fewer features than the big version, all of the important ones have been retained, so it is a fully functional synth in it's own right. Upgrading to the big version will get a large collection of included samples, the ability to use your own and a hard compressor amongst other things.

Black Magic is a unique loop workstation with the ability to generate diverse loops with a single mouse click. Furthermore a loop can instantly be recorded out to WAV, automatically named by BPM and timestamp. The idea developed to make sample based loops an easy and fun process, as loop creation is generally a time consuming process. Black Magic can also be used as a standard midi drum machine and also has the ability to jam with the individual sequences in real time. It has 10 Samplers each with its own sequencer and many adjustable parameters. It uses standard WAV files and ships with a large library of samples, but users can easily add their own. There is also a solid FX section which includes a Compressor/Limiter, Delay, SoundScaper, Flanger/Filter and Drive as well as many Modulation options including randomizers, a Modulation sequencer and an LFO.

This is the entire collection of Homegrown Sample CDs in downloadable format. Buying this product saves half the price of buying all titles individually! It is the equivalent of buying both 'Homegrown Loop Collection' and 'Homegrown Atmospheric Collection.' It includes the following 14 sample CD/DVD titles which amounts to over 9.5gb of samples:

Homegrown Piano is based around 88 samples of a Steinway B Grand Piano which were recorded at medium velocity. It was developed like many other HGSounds products to be great for Ambient/Atmospheric music, though is useful as a standard Piano as can be heard with the Classical demos on the website. The 128 presets cover a diverse range of sounds from Standard, Honky Tonk, Bright, as well as many echo landscapes, high resonance/distorted, and synthetic instruments. Though it is primarily designed as a Piano, it is still a synthesizer at heart and as a result has plenty of experimental potential.

Baby Bion is lightweight Synth using the Oscillator from the forthcoming Astralis Bion. It was designed primarily with SoundScaper in mind, the free FX plugin from hgsounds which can create Complex Undulating Collages. Baby Bion adds a Synth to create the Sound Source, as well as Flanger/Filter, a complex LFO and a couple of 32 stage Envelopes. Although it specializes in Soundscapes and Atmospheres, it can also be used as a general Lightweight Synth, the uniquely developed Dual Oscillator provides over 3500 different waveforms which can be mixed in many flexible ways including FM.

The manuals are now in the process of being converted to Interactive Flash Walkthroughs for all Synths. They are also included in the synths install folder, so if you double click the manual it will open in Flash on your machine.

Astralis FX is based on the Effects of the the Astralis Range of Synthesizers and offers a world of possibilities of Sound Transformation, ranging from Lush Pads to Industrial Destruction. The FX in Astralis Synths play a large part in shaping their sound, the idea with FX is that the same can be applied to any Live sound source sent through the plugin such as drumloops or Guitars etc.. It also includes a Modulation Sequencer and Programmable Gapper for creating Tempo Based Rhythm effects. It can be used as an insert or Send and the Effects can be used in 127 different possible Routings.
